A blog is a very effective communication tool. Many individuals and companies are using their blogs to reach out to consumers. Traditionally, blogs meant to be personal online dairies. But today, blogs are open to the public and used to gain new readers and customers. It would be foolish not to jump on the train, because a blog is easy to install and contrary to popular belief, it is easy to maintain, too. But first you must find a host for your blog. There are three types of hosting that you can consider. 1) Free blog hosting. These are free blog hosting accounts you create a website. The site offers a free blog, which means you do not have to pay a penny for having a blog created. Unfortunately, there are some drawbacks to this type of web hosting packages. For example, allows most of these services do not want you to have your own domain name. This means that your blog is hosted as a subfolder, or as a subdomain on the site. It does not help if you are looking to brand your blog. In addition, there is a whole bunch of rules and strategies that you must follow. Some free hosts, you can not receive advertisements, and some even restrict your use. 2) Windows hosting. Before you create a blog, you must determine that the blog platform you use. There are some out there on the Internet that is available for free because they are open source. The most popular among the stack is WordPress. WordPress runs on PHP. So you must make sure that your server supports PHP software to run properly. It used to be that a Windows server can not run PHP scripts without having the change now. You can now install a WordPress blog successfully on a Windows computer. But since Windows was unable to support PHP in the first place, there may be some bugs. For example, you can not use Mod Rewrite to create search engine friendly URLs on your blog is on a Windows computer. Furthermore, users complained that a WordPress blog tend to run slower on a Windows server. 3) Linux, cPanel hosting. For WordPress to run properly, this is the most appropriate type of hosting you should look for. CPanel is a admin control panel that you can use to install your blog. You do not pay extra for the use of the control panel. It should be provided with your hosting company. Just login with the username and password and you will have access to cPanel. Once inside, look for an icon labeled “Fantastico”. This little feature allows you to install a WordPress blog with a few simple clicks. Just select your admin username and password, then click install, and it’s done! You’ll get access to the WordPress admin area to configure and customize your blog. Spam Comments and WordPress
If you have a WordPress blog, you may already have encountered comment spam. Comment Spam can be a huge headache if you run several blogs. But there are ways to deal with this problem. WordPress comes with some built-in mechanisms to prevent spam and then there is no external plugins that can completely prevent your blog from getting spam comments. Comment Spam is very similar to email spam in the motif. While e-mail spam trying to get publicity and exposure, try to comment spam to create backlinks. As you may know, most of the major search engines stress backlinks while ranking websites. And this is what the spammer after. To tackle the problem of comment spam, adds WordPress may not comply with the tag added links via the Comment box. This means that search engines will not value links. However, this has not completely eradicated the problem. Spammers are still spamming blogs, can be, with the intention to have direct visitors. Here are some ways to prevent comment spam: Akismet: WordPress is installed with a plugin called Akismet which recognize junk comments and separates them from others. IOError. us / In addition to using these plugins, I would recommend also using a captcha with the comment box. This will ensure that only people can post comments. But there is no cure that can read the signs in the catch. If you use any of the plugins that I mentioned above, a captcha is not required. It’s a plugin called recaptcha to do a good job.
